VillageBeats Records is a small, independent record label. It was established on June 1, 2016, by John Gore, Jessalyn Gore, and Diane Wallach. VillageBeats Records, aka VBR, is dedicated to the development, management, and direct-to-consumer promotion of unique and exciting music artists by encouraging individuality, authenticity, and true music innovation. As respected and well-connected industry professionals, we partner with other like-minded pros to help independent music artists achieve artistic and commercial success through long-term creative strategies and a distinctive global signature sound.
John Gore, President, has worked in the music industry for over 20 years. He has worked with many artists, including Grammy winner Alicia Keys, Kimora Lee Simmons, Ruff Endz, and K’ Jon. John’s entertainment career quickly skyrocketed during his early involvement with Jeff Robinson and Clive Davis while launching the career of Alicia Keys. John was instrumental in the brand management and endorsement during Alicia’s first two world tours. This led to the founding of Jagore Music Group, with the assistance of music entertainment mogul Bert Padell. It was under this group that John managed Ruff Endz (Sony Records), Kimora Lee Simmons, Gary Jenkins (lead singer of Silk), Shells (J Records), K’Jon (Universal Republic), and a host of other singers, songwriters, and producers.
Jessalyn Gore, CEO, has two passions in her life; music and making a positive impact in the world. Jessalyn, the daughter of John Gore, has been around music her entire life. At four years old she asked her grandfather to build her a stage in her family’s basement so she could perform for her family. Jessalyn is a gifted singer with a unique, soothing, soulful voice. At only 20 year’s old, Jessalyn is VBR’s CEO and first artist. Jessalyn’s passion for impacting the world has led her to become very active in community service. She has spent 3 summers as a volunteer and counselor at a Camp Vacamas, a sleep-away camp for inner city youth. She volunteers with WIN (Women in Need), a NYC based organization that helps homeless women and children. During high school, Jessalyn spent 3 weeks in Ecuador teaching children English and helping to build a school. Jessalyn’s aspiration is to use her unique combination of R&B and Pop as a platform to bring awareness to the social issues facing NYC and the world.
Diane Wallach, CFO, and Jessalyn’s mother, brings a different skill set to VBR. Diane has always loved music and, in her late teens – 30s, spent many nights a the Cafe Wha’, dancing to music of all genres and decades. With a Master’s in Social Work and experience in counseling, administration, and service coordination, Diane is a strong planner, organizer, and policy maker.
Gillian Gore, Partner, and Jessalyn’s younger sister, has been exposed to music all of her life. Gillian has an amazing ear and voice. She performed with Jessalyn at their school during music week. Gillian has started to teach herself guitar and she is interested in song writing. Gillian is planning to collaborate with Jessalyn as a songwriter. She will also work on promotions and marketing for VillageBeats Records.
John’s experience and connections in the business world, Jessalyn’s passion and talent, and Diane’s organizational skills and people skills, come together to provide a team like no other.
